Směr is a company with a 50-year tradition in the area of processing plastic.
It was founded in 1952 as a producer cooperative and still exists in this legal form. It underwent a significant restructuring which started in 1990 - company production and management was centralized in the main production facility in Prague-Petrovice. As part of the restructuring process, the company fully concentrated on processing plastic using injection, blow molding, foil extrusion and profile extrusion technologies. Company management complies with the ISO9001 standard.

The company's range of products progressed since company inception and currently can be divided into the following areas:

• Manufacture and sale of toys and polytechnic building sets
  This area enjoys the longest tradition, which imprinted the Směr brand into the minds of several generations. The range of products being manufactured and sold is selected with an emphasis on their educational nature in the area of dexterity and positive creativity. The collection, therefore, contains no weapons with the exception of air planes the assortment of which ranks the company among the main European manufacturers.
• Manufacture of polyethylene plastic foils
  This is an area with a 30-year tradition. The main products are quality printed foils to be used as food packaging.
• Manufacture of polyethylene plastic bags
  This is an area with a 20-year tradition. The manufacturing process relies on in-house produced foils, which allows for accommodating customers' special needs.
• Custom made plastic components
  This is an area where in the last 10 years the company reached a European level as far as injection presses, related peripheries and quality low-quantity processing of injection plastic.
